About the player
Luca Stancu made his way through the lower tiers of Romanian football before reaching Liga I. He spent his early career at AFC Câmpulung Muscel, and it was there that the shape of his game first became clear. In the 2023/24 season he found the net seven times in the league from the back, an unusual return for a defender.
The step up to Liga II the following season brought a quieter role in front of goal but a settled place in the side. That consistency carried him to AFC Hermannstadt, where he stepped up again, this time into Liga I football. He wore the number 77 shirt there, as he had at his previous club, contributing goals and assists from a defensive position across his debut top-flight season.
In the summer of 2026 Stancu completed a move to FCSB. He has already been handed his first appearance in the new colours, though it remains early days in that chapter of his career. He has not yet been called into Romania's senior national team.
