Lucas Gamba

Lucas Gamba spent more than a decade moving between Argentina's provincial and top-flight clubs before arriving at Barracas Central in January 2026.

Born in San Rafael, Mendoza, Gamba started out in the youth ranks of Argentino de Mendoza before his professional debut arrived in 2006 at Gimnasia y Tiro in Salta, where he played a single official match. He found his footing at Deportivo Maipú from 2008, scoring 31 goals in 132 matches.

The move that reshaped his career came in 2014, when he joined Unión de Santa Fe on a free transfer. He helped the club win the Primera B Nacional that year and reach the Argentine top flight, then went on to score 22 goals in 109 league appearances during his first spell there. A free transfer to Huracán followed in 2018, where he scored 9 goals in 35 matches, including two in the Copa Libertadores.

Rosario Central signed him in 2019 for around €1.3m, and he scored 14 goals in 89 matches over three seasons. In June 2022, despite being offered a new contract, Gamba announced through Instagram that he would not be staying. He then left on a free transfer for Ecuador's LDU Quito, where he made 12 appearances without scoring, before a loan to Central Córdoba in Santiago del Estero in 2023 brought him back among the goals.
