About the player
Lucas Janson 's clearest piece of individual recognition came at Vélez Sarsfield, where his form during the 2022 Copa Libertadores earned him a place in the tournament's Team of the Tournament.
He came through the youth system at Tigre, making his first-team debut in 2012 and going on to make more than 100 appearances for the club. In 2018 he spent the second half of the season on loan at Toronto FC in Major League Soccer, scoring five goals in twelve appearances before returning to Tigre.
Boca Juniors paid close to €2.7m for him in July 2023. In July 2026 he was sent out on loan to Gimnasia La Plata, where he has made two league appearances so far without scoring.
Janson has not been called up to Argentina's senior national team.
