Moritz-Broni Kwarteng

Moritz-Broni Kwarteng came through the youth ranks at ASV Botnang before moving into the academy system at VfB Stuttgart, then RB Leipzig and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. His breakthrough came at Hamburger SV, where he made his debut in the 2. Bundesliga in 2018, though first-team opportunities stayed limited: three appearances without a goal across three seasons, with most of his football coming for the reserve side in the Regionalliga Nord.

It was at 1. FC Magdeburg, initially on loan from January 2022 before the move was made permanent, that Kwarteng established himself. The 2022–2023 season was his best: 12 goals in 40 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga, making him the club's top scorer and a key figure as Magdeburg pushed for promotion.

That form earned him a switch to VfL Bochum in June 2023, where he signed a contract running to 2027. His time there yielded 36 appearances and two goals. In January 2025 he went out on loan to Fortuna Düsseldorf for six months, making eight appearances without scoring; the loan carried an option to buy that Düsseldorf did not take up.

In July 2026, Kwarteng returned to 1. FC Magdeburg on a permanent transfer, reported at a base fee of €300,000 with add-ons, taking him back to the club where his career had previously peaked. He has represented Germany at youth level and helped Magdeburg to promotion during his first spell there, though he has not won any major individual or team honours.
