Mateo Naín Sanabria Doracio

Before he had played a competitive minute in Brazil, Mateo Sanabria had already told the Argentinian paper Olé about his ambitions for the Club World Cup. He went into that tournament with Al Ain, the Emirati club that had bought 70% of his rights the previous August.

The route there began at Lanús, where he came through the academy and made his first-team debut in the 2022/23 season. His time in the senior squad was split by a loan: from August 2023 to June 2024 he played for Central Córdoba de Santiago del Estero, where 16 appearances brought four or five goals. He returned to Lanús in June 2024 for four matches and one goal, then left for the United Arab Emirates in August. In total he made around 29 appearances for Lanús, scoring twice.

At Al Ain he played in the AFC Champions League as well as the Club World Cup, finishing with 33 matches, six goals and two assists. Transfer figures for that move vary between reports, from €3.6m to $4.5m for the majority share.

On 26 August 2025 he signed for Bahia on a five-year contract running to December 2030, for a fixed €5m with a further €2m available in bonuses. By the 2026/27 season he had 14 appearances and two goals for the Brazilian club.

With Argentina he has played for the under-20s, without scoring, and won the Torneo Internacional Sub-20 de L'Alcúdia in 2022. He has not been capped by the senior national team.
