About the player
Manuel Duarte came through Defensa y Justicia's academy and made his professional debut in August 2021. In 2021/22 he scored against Independiente. A loan spell at Mexico's Querétaro in 2023 brought ten league appearances and an assist, but no goals, before he returned to Defensa y Justicia for the 2023/24 campaign.
In January 2024, Barracas Central took Duarte on loan, and he scored a long-range strike that beat Argentinos Juniors 1-0 in November 2024.
The loan arrangement ran its course, and in January 2026 Duarte signed for Barracas Central permanently as a free agent, agreeing a contract through the end of that year.
Duarte's name is also attached to Defensa y Justicia's 2021 Recopa Sudamericana win, though he was not part of the squad named for the final matches and holds the medal only by virtue of being at the club at the time.
