Marco Leonardo Mancebo Clavero

Marco Mancebo came through Defensor Sporting's youth system before making the move to Boston River in 2021, a transfer that took him from one of Montevideo's traditional academies into a first team squad. He made his debut in the Uruguayan Primera División on 26 September 2021, against Peñarol, stepping straight into one of the league's marquee fixtures.

Since establishing himself at the back for Boston River, the defender has worn the number 3 shirt and taken part in continental competition, featuring in the Copa Libertadores in 2023 and, more recently, in the Copa Sudamericana. Those appearances have put him in front of opposition from outside Uruguay, a different test to the weekly rhythm of the domestic league.

Mancebo's time in the first team has also carried a disciplinary edge, with a run of yellow cards and a pair of sendings-off across his spell at the club, the kind of record that tends to follow a defender asked to do the unglamorous work at the back.
