About the player
Marcos Sevillano's contract renewal in October 2025: Universidad Católica listed him alongside Luis Canga and Byron Palacios as one of the "joyas" it was determined not to lose.
The Ecuadorian started out at Universidad Católica in Quito before a move to San Antonio FC took him away for three seasons. He returned to Católica at the start of 2025.
Sources disagree on where exactly Sevillano fits on the pitch, with some placing him in central defence and others in midfield, but the number 19 shirt he now wears at Católica. His first goal for the club arrived on 1 May 2026 against Independiente del Valle, in a match Católica won 2-1.
Eight days later, against Aucas, Sevillano was sent off in the 24th minute. Católica led at the time but could not hold on with ten men, and Aucas came back to win 1-2.
He has not been called up to Ecuador's senior national team.
