About the player
Mario Sandoval made his first-team debut for Audax Italiano on 28 August 2024, in a 1-2 defeat to Everton in the Chilean league, at just 17 years old. He signed his first professional contract with the club on 27 March 2025.
Since then the midfielder has become a regular fixture in Audax Italiano's squad, with 29 league appearances to his name as of February 2026. In the 2025 Primera División campaign he played 17 matches, added one assist, and picked up two yellow cards and a sending-off along the way.
Sandoval was the youngest player in Chile's squad at the 2025 U20 World Cup, where he featured in all three group-stage matches. He had already been capped at U16 level in 2023 before stepping up to the U20 side in 2025 and 2026. A senior national team call-up has yet to follow.
Right-footed and wearing the number 6 shirt at Audax Italiano, Sandoval has built his career entirely within the club that developed him from boyhood, a rare case of a Chilean prospect graduating straight from the academy into first-team and international recognition.
