About the player
El Ghezouani's route to Club Tijuana ran through Spain's lower divisions, where he spent years proving himself before a breakthrough arrived. He joined Villarreal's academy system in 2017, then moved through Orihuela and Elche's reserve side.
That patience produced a moment that stands out in his career: on 16 October 2022, playing for Burgos, he scored the winner in a 2-1 victory over Mirandés. In the 2024/25 season he finished as the club's top scorer with ten goals and helped Elche win promotion to La Liga.
El Ghezouani spent six seasons on Elche's books in total, appearing 68 times and scoring 14 goals across his various stints with the first team. In 2025 he left for Mexico, joining Club Tijuana for a fee of €1.5 million. He has since made 29 appearances for the club, scoring seven goals.
Internationally, he represented Morocco at under-20 level in 2016.
