Nicolás Capraro

Nicolás Capraro made his name at Olimpo rather than at either of the Buenos Aires clubs that trained him. He came up through the youth ranks at Boca Juniors and then Vélez Sarsfield, but the step up to Vélez's first team never came — 19 appearances for the reserve side was as far as it went. The move to Olimpo in 2019, initially on loan, changed that. He turned the loan into a permanent contract in 2020 and became a fixture in the side, a run of appearances that stretched to 83 matches and six goals by the time his contract expired in December 2022.

At Barracas Central, Capraro has settled into the same role as a regular starter. In the 2026 Liga Profesional Apertura he started 11 of his 16 appearances, logging over 1,100 minutes with an average rating above 6.8. He is not prone to needless bookings, though he has picked up his share of yellow cards along the way, including a second caution and dismissal in a match against his old side Vélez Sarsfield in April 2023.

The clearest highlight of his time in Buenos Aires' south side came that same month, when he scored the winning goal against Platense — a rare moment on the scoresheet. Capraro has yet to be capped by Argentina at any level, and no major trophy features on his record. His path has been built instead on steady progression: from a reserve-team defender at Vélez to a first-team regular first at Olimpo, then at Barracas Central.
