About the player
After starting out at SK Freidig and IL Trond, he spent his early senior years at Sverresborg IF, Kristiansund BK 2 and Nardo FK before a move to Ranheim in 2020 and a loan at Ullensaker/Kisa the following year.
The switch to Rosenborg in January 2021 changed his career. Over five seasons he scored 33 goals in 76 appearances, and in 2024 one of them was voted the Eliteserien Goal of the Season. That year also produced a moment of controversy: a goal against KFUM Oslo was ruled out after VAR judged he had touched the goalkeeper before the ball crossed the line.
Sæter drew wider attention in September 2024 when he turned down a move to Maccabi Haifa, describing the offer as "blood money" given the war in Gaza. He has never been capped by Norway, though he was eligible to play for Pakistan through his grandfather — an option he declined in 2022.
His time at Rosenborg ended in January 2026 with a transfer to Vålerenga, where he now plays in the number 90 shirt. In March 2026 he suffered a severe head and neck injury while playing for Vålerenga against his former club, Rosenborg.
