About the player
Promise Meliga signed for Vålerenga on his 18th birthday, joining as a free transfer straight from Nigerian football. He had come through Remo Stars and the Beyond Limits FA U17 academy, where he collected two Creative Championship Cup titles and the Viareggio Tournament before making the move to Norway.
He needed time to establish himself in Oslo, and Vålerenga sent him out on loan to Kristiansund, where he found his scoring touch, netting three goals in nine matches.
Meliga then moved on to KFUM-Kameratene Oslo, where he plays as a right winger. At 190cm, he offers a physical presence going forward, and his right foot remains his stronger side. He is still early in his senior career.
