About the player
Seven goals in seven matches. That was Rafael Lobato's return in the 2025 Brasileirão Sub-20, at a point when he had already been playing for Botafogo's senior side — sent back down in March to help the youth team.
The route there began at Duque de Caxias , and at 14 he moved to Botafogo's academy. Across Botafogo's formation teams from Sub-17 upwards he scored 28 goals and set up 15.
In August 2025 Rio Ave announced his signing on a permanent transfer, with a four-season contract. The fee was not disclosed; Botafogo retained 30–40% of his economic rights. Transfermarkt values him at €800,000.
Two league appearances, no goals, no assists — and one match in the Liga Revelação Sub-23, in which he scored.
