Rodrigo Villalba

Rodrigo Villalba came off the bench in a 1-1 draw with Sportivo Ameliano on 9 June and stayed in the first-team picture from there. On 20 July 2024, in a 4-2 win over Tacuary, his effort deflected off a shot from Roque Santa Cruz and went in on 63 minutes.

Before that breakthrough, Libertad sent him out on loan to Guaireña FC for the second half of 2022 to get regular football. He played ten league matches there without scoring, picked up two yellow cards, and returned to Asunción for the following season.

He made seven league appearances in 2023, nineteen with two goals in 2024, and twenty-one with a further goal in 2025. He has also featured six times in the Copa Libertadores and once in the Copa Sudamericana. Libertad's Apertura 2025 title, the club's twenty-sixth, came with him in the squad.

At the South American U17 Championship in Ecuador in 2023, he scored four goals in seven matches, finding the net twice against Venezuela and once each against Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador. He later represented Paraguay at the 2025 U20 World Cup in Chile, playing four matches and 265 minutes without scoring, and picking up one yellow card.

He plays predominantly on the right, either as a winger or further forward through the middle.
