Steven Nsimba

Steven Nsimba came through the youth system at US Villejuif and only turned professional at Gobelins in 2017, followed by spells at Bobigny, Les Ulis and Bourges 18, where he finished as the top scorer in Championnat National 2 in the 2021/22 season.

A move to Laval in 2022 looked like the step up he needed, but a serious ankle ligament injury that September kept him sidelined for months. He rebuilt his career through Avranches and then Aubagne, where he scored 12 goals in 32 appearances in 2024/25.

Wearing the number 7 shirt, Nsimba has scored 19 goals in 57 appearances for Craiova, finding the net in the Europa Conference League, the Champions League and the Europa League alike.

Late in 2025, Nsimba was said to be weighing up a move to Chinese club Zhejiang, and reports pointed to a bust-up with coach Filipe Coelho after he reportedly refused to come on as a substitute against AEK. In January 2026, sporting director Mário Felgueiras gave a different account, saying Nsimba had turned down the Chinese offer because he wanted to win the title with Craiova.

Nsimba, who holds French and Congolese citizenship, has represented France at youth level but has not been capped by either country's senior national team.
