About the player
Tobias Müller returned to 1. FC Magdeburg on 2 January 2024, going back to the club where he had already made 126 appearances and scored six goals across a previous spell. Since that return he has added a further 55 appearances and one goal for the 2. Bundesliga side.
His first spell at Magdeburg was a successful one. In the 2021/22 season he served as club captain and helped the side win the 3. Liga title, securing promotion to the 2. Bundesliga. He also won the Regional Cup of Sachsen-Anhalt with the club in 2020/21.
Müller came through Germania Brötzingen before joining FC Nöttingen's youth ranks. His senior career began at FC Nöttingen in the Regionalliga, where he made 58 appearances and scored three goals, and where he also won the Baden regional cup in 2014/15. He then spent two seasons with SC Freiburg II before moving to Hallescher FC in the 3. Liga.
Between his two Magdeburg spells, Müller joined SC Paderborn in May 2022, making 26 appearances without scoring before his move back to Magdeburg at the start of 2024.
Sources differ on his preferred foot, with some describing him as equally comfortable on both, though he has no senior or youth caps for Germany.
