Concórdia sits in the west of Santa Catarina, in pig-and-poultry country, and the club that carries its name carries the town's colours too — green, red and white, straight off the municipal flag. The rooster on the badge gave the nickname: Galo do Oeste , the Rooster of the West.

Promotion came in 2017, when Concórdia won the Campeonato Catarinense Série B by beating Hercílio Luz and went up to the state's top tier. Then two finals lost — 2020 to Joinville, 2023 to Marcílio Dias — before the same opponent came round again in 2024 and this time Concórdia took the Copa Santa Catarina, with Pedro Alves, Péricles and Pedro Arthur central to it.
