Gran Canaria

Gran Canaria won the 2023 EuroCup by beating Türk Telekom 71–67 in the final. It was the club's first continental title, and it came after a run of near misses: a EuroCup final lost to Khimki in 2014–15, then a Copa del Rey final lost to Real Madrid a season later. The Supercopa de España followed in 2016, when they beat FC Barcelona 79–59.

The EuroCup win earned a place in the 2023–24 EuroLeague. The club turned it down for financial reasons. They had played in the competition once before, in 2018–19.

The club began in 1963 as a youth programme at the Claret School in Las Palmas, which explains the second nickname, Los Claretianos, alongside Los Amarillos. It became independent in 1985 as Claret Las Palmas and took its present name in 1988, when it wanted a broader base in the city. Its first title, the inaugural Liga EBA in 1994–95, carried promotion to the top-flight Liga ACB, and it stayed there until relegation to Primera FEB for 2025–26.

Joaquín "Chus" Rodríguez spent most of his career here, in two spells, 2002–2014 and 2019–2022. The club retired Jim Moran's number 20.

Every meeting with CB Canarias of Tenerife is the Derbi Canario. Home games are at the Gran Canaria Arena, which opened in March 2014 and holds 9,870 for basketball, in a city that has not had to travel far to see its team win.
