Estela

Estela began in Santander as Club Deportivo Elemental Estela de Cantabria. The registration is dated 29 December 1999.

Sponsors renamed it along the way. It was Carlomar Estela in 2013–14 and 2014–15, then Igualatorio Cantabria Estela in 2015–16. The club won the Copa Cantabria EBA in 2015 and again in 2016. Liga EBA Group A-A followed in 2016–17 and 2017–18, two league titles in consecutive seasons.

The bigger change came off the court. In March 2020 the club moved its headquarters from Santander to Torrelavega and settled in the Pabellón Municipal Vicente Trueba, a hall of 2,500 seats that some sources put closer to 3,000. Two years later Estela won LEB Plata Group West in 2021–22 and earned promotion to LEB Oro, now Primera FEB.

The squad has drawn from further afield. Moussa Koné, an Ivorian international, played here, and so did the Venezuelan guard Harol Cazorla and the Czech Tomáš Hampl. Jorge León is remembered differently: a centre who came back to Cantabria to play for the club.

Supporters call the team the Estelistas, and the shorthand names are Alega and Torre. Red and white are the colours. The derbi cántabro is played against Pas Piélagos and Cantbasket 04.
