Alicante

When the original Club Baloncesto Lucentum went under, its debts unpaid, the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB) demoted it, and by 2015 the club had stopped operating. It plays under the sponsored name HLA Alicante.

The old club had a longer and louder life. It grew out of CB Miguel Hernández, a side from 1980, and became Lucentum in 1994. José Manuel Calderón and Pablo Prigioni both played for it. In 2012 it sold its ACB place to CB Canarias, and three years later the club was gone.

The foundation's own best season came in 2018-19. It won the LEB Plata regular season and the Copa LEB Plata, and it went back up to LEB Oro, where it now plays at the Pabellón Pedro Ferrándiz, a hall of 5,696 seats. The colours are white and navy blue.

The rival is Valencia Basket. Alicante and Valencia sit on the same coast, and their meetings are billed as the Derbi de la Comunitat Valenciana.
