LEB Oro (Spain) 2025/26

Primera FEB, historically known as LEB Oro, operates as the second-tier professional basketball league in Spain. Organised by the Federación Española de Baloncesto, the competition sits directly below the top-flight Liga ACB and above the third-tier Segunda FEB. The league underwent a significant rebranding for the 2024–25 season to align with Spanish football naming conventions, though it remains widely referred to by its former title in historical contexts.

The structure relies on a double round-robin format, with each of the eighteen teams playing thirty-four matches. Promotion to the elite ACB is secured by two teams: the regular season champion gains automatic elevation, while the winner of a playoff tournament involving sides finishing second through ninth claims the second spot. This playoff concludes with a Final Four. Conversely, three clubs face relegation to the third tier at the end of the campaign.

The primary distinction of this league lies in its function as a structural feeder system bridging professional and semi-professional levels, unlike knockout cup tournaments such as the Copa del Rey. It serves as the essential pathway for clubs aiming to reach the top tier. While the current champion is Obradoiro CAB, the competition has a history of multiple title winners, including UCAM Murcia CB, Gipuzkoa Basket, and CB Breogán, each having won the title three times.

Unlike the first tier, which features established giants, this league provides a platform for teams like Alicante, Baloncesto Fuenlabrada, and Bàsquet Mallorca Palma to compete for promotion. The focus remains on the sporting outcome rather than commercial spectacle, maintaining a clear hierarchy within Spanish basketball.
