Jecheon Citizen

Jecheon Citizen FC took the field for the first time in March 2026. The opening match, against Jinju Citizen FC, drew a sell-out crowd that set an attendance record for the division.

The city council cleared the way in September 2025, approving a support ordinance that let the club incorporate, and the founding ceremony followed on February 24, 2026. A public vote that January settled the crest: a shield worked with mountain lines and a reference to Uirimji, the lake at the edge of the city. Gold and navy became the club's colours.

Jecheon Stadium, built around a running track, seats 25,000 for football. The squad that assembled for the first season numbered 33, most of them in their early twenties, though only five came from Jecheon itself. With Chungju Citizen having relocated away from the region, there is no rival waiting across town yet, and no nickname has stuck to the club either.

Han Sang-gu took the job of head coach for that first campaign. A Jecheon native, he had played for FC Seoul, Sangmu, Gangneung City and Gyeongnam FC before spending 17 years coaching at Jecheon Jeil High School.
