Geumsan Insam

Geumsan Stadium holds 5,000 people, just over a thousand of them in seats, and for now it belongs to a team that has barely had time to wear a groove into the turf. Geumsan Insam took the field there for the first time on 7 March 2026, beating a visiting side 2-1 on the strength of two goals from Moon Seul-beom, a forward who arrived with a reputation as an assist king from the K3 League.

The club exists because Geumsan County decided it should: the Korea Football Association signed off on its entry to the K4 League, South Korean football's fourth tier, on 4 November 2025, and the founding ceremony followed on 17 December at the Geumsan Student Gymnasium. Kang Jeong-hoon took the role of representative director, with Lee Tae-young heading the county's sports council behind him. Head coach Lee Young-min built his first squad around possession and cohesion rather than individual talent, a plan suited to a group of players who had mostly never shared a dressing room before.

The name and the orange kit both point to the same thing: ginseng, the crop that has defined Geumsan County for generations and now gives a fourth-tier football club its identity. There is no rival yet with any history attached, no grudge match on the calendar — the club is too new for enemies. Its supporters, organised under the name Jin-Fans, follow the team through Instagram rather than a club website, posting from the stands at Geumsan Stadium as a team from a ginseng-growing county in Chungcheongnam-do tries to turn a single opening win into a season.
