Seosan Pioneer

Yoon Dong-Gwon arrived at Seosan Stadium already knowing the K4 League from three different dressing rooms, having come through Ulsan Citizen, Chuncheon FC and Gangneung City before he pulled on the number 10 shirt for a club that did not exist a year earlier. Seosan Pioneer FC was registered on 26 January 2026, run by Seosan FC Football Club Co., Ltd, and went straight into the fourth tier for the 2026 season. The city had fielded a team before, Seosan Omega FC, which later moved on and became Yesan FC, but the paperwork on the new side draws no line back to it; Pioneer took the name and the stadium, not the history.

That stadium, known locally as Seosan Comprehensive Stadium, holds 19,000, which is a lot of empty concrete for a club still building its first squad. The cup run gave an early measure of where the team stood: in the Hana Bank Korea Cup, Seosan Pioneer went out 3-0 to Gyeongju KHNP on 5 July, a defeat that told the coaching staff more about the gap to close than any league table could at that stage of the season.

Alongside Yoon in midfield the club has assembled a young group — Ji-Woong Cho, Mu-Young Jeong, Ki-Yeon Won, Bon-Jun Koo, Hyun-Su Ha among them — without yet a badge nickname or a settled identity in club colours to go with it. Geumsan Insam FC, from elsewhere in South Chungcheong Province, is the nearest thing to a rival on the fixture list, though nothing has hardened into an actual derby. For now the club's task is the plainer one: get through a debut league campaign in the K4 and find out, match by match, what kind of team it actually has.
