Ten points from safety wasn't the story in 2019 — six points was. Khoromkhon finished the season tenth in the Mongolian Premier League and dropped into the Second League.

The club started out in 1999, playing its first seasons under the name Heiniken before switching to Khoromkhon in 2003. It is still known as the Yellows — blue at home, white away. The best of its years came in 2005, when it took the league and the MFF Cup together. Runner-up finishes came in 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2012, and 2012 also brought the Borgio Cup.

Nyam-Osor Naranbold carried the attack through the club's better recent seasons, finishing as the league's top scorer in 2015 and again in 2023-24. He also holds Mongolia's all-time scoring record at international level.

Matches are played at the MFF Football Centre, its capacity raised to 5,000 after work finished in October 2013. In 2016, Khoromkhon travelled outside the region altogether, meeting K-Electric FC of Bhutan in the AFC Cup.

Nine goals is Naranbold's tally for the national team, a national record in Mongolia.
