Khovd

Khovd Broncos went up to the Mongolian Premier League in 2021 and have stayed there since. The debut campaign was tight: ninth place in 2021–22, with survival decided by a playoff that Khovd won on a walkover rather than on the pitch.

The club carries the name of the western city it represents, though its matches are actually played at the MFF Football Centre in Ulaanbaatar, a ground with room for 5,000.

Everything changed in July 2022. New owner B. Bat-Erdene tore up the old identity, brought in a fresh logo and put Garidmagnai Bayasgalan in charge of the team. The following season, Batkhuyag Munkh-Erdene finished as the league's top scorer with 26 goals. Alongside him, Nyam-Osor Naranbold arrived in 2022 already carrying the record as the national team's leading scorer, adding a different kind of pedigree to the squad.

The club shares Khovd's football landscape with Khovd Western FC, a rivalry that has no settled name attached to it but is felt locally regardless. Khovd itself runs no official website, leaving social media to carry news of the team between matches.
