Nairobi City Stars

Nairobi City Stars did not start as a football club chasing trophies but as a project of a charity, World Hope International, which set it up in Kawangware after Kawangware United dropped down the divisions. Coach Zedekiah "Zico" Otieno brought most of the old squad across under the new name, World Hope Football Club. That first season, 2003–04, the side won the Kenya Nationwide League, and a year later added the FKF President's Cup.

The charity did not stay in charge. In October 2008, Ambassadors in Sport bought the club and renamed it Nairobi City Stars, and in March 2019 the Jonathan Jackson Foundation took it over in turn, with Patrick Korir installed as chief executive. Under Sanjin Alagić, the club went unbeaten for 22 matches across the 2018–19 and 2019–20 National Super League seasons and won the title in 2019–20, going back up to the Premier League.

They are known as Simba wa Nairobi, play in blue and white, and are based at the Hope Centre in Kawangware, a 5,000-capacity ground they share their name with more than their fixtures, since bigger matches are sometimes shifted to Dandora Stadium instead.

What the Nationwide League title of 2004 and the President's Cup of 2005 have not been followed by is a Premier League championship.
