WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary shares its gates with North Carolina Courage's NWSL side, and NC Courage II were set up to make use of that arrangement. First Horizon Stadium there holds 9,200, and the reserve team plays its USL W League matches on the same ground where the Courage academy trains, built as a step between college-bound prospects and the first team above them.
The club was announced in January 2022 and took the field that same year. A trophy took two seasons to arrive: in the 2024 USL W League final, NC Courage II came back to beat Colorado Storm 3-2, with forward Macey Bader named the match's MVP before she moved on to Carolina Ascent FC in the USL Super League. The year before, they had lost the final to Indy Eleven in overtime; two years later, defending the title, they were beaten 0-4 by Utah United. Closer to home, in the South Atlantic Division, the results have been steadier: the regular-season title every year from 2023 through 2025. The South Conference crown came in 2023 and 2024.
Ivy Younce went further than any final, moving straight from this roster into the Courage's own NWSL squad. Carolina Ascent II and Charlotte Eagles remain the sharpest games on the divisional calendar. Fixtures stay at WakeMed Soccer Park, the same corner of Cary where the parent club's own crowd gathers each NWSL season.
