In May 2022, Sopron's players lifted the EuroLeague Women trophy after a campaign in which Gabby Williams was named the competition's most valuable player.
The women's section grew out of Soproni Vasutas Sportegylet, a railway workers' sports club founded in 1921, with basketball added only after the Second World War.
Matches against Győr and against Pécs carry their own weight in the domestic calendar, contests fans call the rangadó. They are played out in Aréna Sopron, a ground holding 2,500 people that, on the nights that matter most, fills with the green and yellow of a town that has grown used to seeing this team win.
