Taguatinga EC

The club's own history runs in two distinct lives. It started out as Pioneira Futebol Clube, formed by employees of the Pioneira bus company, and turned professional under the Taguatinga name in July 1975. The years worth remembering came between 1991 and 1993, when the club took the Campeonato Brasiliense three years running, part of a haul of five state titles that also includes 1981 and 1989.

What followed it did not. Relegation came in 1996, and by 1999 the debts had piled up enough to shut the club down altogether. It stayed dissolved until 2018, when a merger with Clube Atlético Taguatinga brought the name back onto the pitch. Another relegation followed in 2023, but the eagle on the crest, the source of the nickname Águia, is back playing in blue and white at the Estádio Elmo Serejo Farias, known locally as Serejão.
