About

Campeonato Brasiliense Segunda Divisão, often referred to as Brasiliense B, serves as the second tier of the football pyramid in the Brazilian Federal District. The competition traces its origins back to 1960, beginning as an amateur fixture before evolving into a professional structure. Early editions were held sporadically until 1963, after which the tournament remained inactive until it was revived in 1997 as an organized division.

The current season features eight teams competing in a single round-robin stage. The format determines promotion through direct advancement: the top two finishers move up to the Primeira Divisão without the need for play-offs. This structure reflects the simplified two-tier system in place, as the third division, the Terceira Divisão, was abolished in 2010, leaving relegation from the second tier inactive.

Historical records show varied success among participating clubs. Sobradinho claimed the inaugural title in 1960 during the amateur era. In recent years, ARUC emerged as the 2025 champion, securing promotion alongside Brasília. Other notable clubs with multiple titles include Paranoá and Samambaia, each having won the competition three times.

The tournament operates under the governance of the Federação de Futebol do Distrito Federal (FFDF). While the landscape has shifted from a three-tier to a two-tier model, the competition continues to provide a pathway for local clubs to reach the top level of regional football. The current squad includes Canaa Ec, Candango, GREVAL, Legião, Luziânia, and Planaltina DF, all vying for a spot in the higher division.
