The club had waited half a century for that moment, since its founding on 6 September 1949, and it took another season before the Torneo Reducido carried it up into Primera C in 1992 — the promotion that mattered more to the club's own sense of itself than the eventual title did.
Before any of that, the side built its identity closer to home.
The colours never changed through any of it — red and white, worn by a club its own supporters call Lobo Rojo , the Red Wolf.
