Birzebbuga

At the National Stadium, Birżebbuġa St. Peter's beat Melita FC 3-0 to lift the BOV Challenge Cup.

The name on the shirt points to where the club comes from: Birżebbuġa's parish is dedicated to Saint Peter, and the nickname, the Saints, follows from that.

Most of what the club has won sits below Malta's top flight. The Amateur League, the third tier, has produced three championships for Birżebbuġa — 1953-54, 1997-98 and 2005-06. The most recent title arrived in 2024-25 in the renamed Amateur League 1, and the club followed it by winning the National Amateur Super Cup in both that season and the next. The Maltese FA Trophy, the country's principal cup, has gone the other way: the furthest Birżebbuġa have reached is the fourth round, first in 2013-14 against Valletta and again in 2025-26 against Żurrieq, losing both times.

Games are played at the Centenary Stadium, with the smaller Birżebbuġa Football Center used alongside it.

Melita FC is now the name attached to that biggest result.
