Mariners Manotick

The Mariners finished first in their Northern Premier Hockey League conference in 2025–26 with an 18–2 record and took the conference title. That came from a team that had existed for barely two seasons and had been assembled by moving a franchise: the Cornwall Prowlers were relocated to Manotick under new ownership.

The owner, Talaal Baroudi, wanted to bring back the name Kings, which the village's senior team carried in the late 1980s and 1990s. After consultation the club chose Mariners instead, so as not to be mistaken for the Tweed Oil Kings. Senior hockey had been absent from Manotick, a village inside the city of Ottawa, for more than 30 years when the club started in 2024.

The first season was in the Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League, beginning in September 2024. The Mariners reached the semifinals, working through a division that included the Arnprior Rivermen, the Paugan Falls Rapids and the MV Wolves from Barry's Bay. The conference title came a year later, in a different league.

Home games are played at the Manotick Community Centre & Mike O'Neil Arena on Doctor Leach Drive. The club keeps no website of its own and runs its public presence through Instagram, where it posts as @manotickmariners.

The next step is already fixed. For 2026–27 the Mariners join the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey as an expansion side, taking the place of the expelled Laval Pétroliers and becoming the league's eighth team. Neither the league title nor the Coupe Futura has been won yet.
