Olaf Kolzig stood in goal for Kennewick's first season in 1988–89 wearing colours that had already travelled through Calgary, Billings, Nanaimo and New Westminster before landing in Washington state. Sixteen years later he came back, this time with a chequebook, joining Stu Barnes in a 2004 ownership group that bought the club outright to stop it being moved on again.

The player who did the most for the club's name outside the WHL, though, wore the jersey later: Carey Price spent five seasons in Kennewick before becoming an Olympic gold medallist and NHL all-star.

The Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy for topping the regular-season standings arrived in 2007–08 under coach Don Nachbaur, who was named the league's coach of the year for it, and the Americans reached their only WHL final in 2009–10, losing to the Calgary Hitmen. The Ed Chynoweth Cup itself has never come to Kennewick.

Home games are played at the Toyota Center, previously known as the Tri-Cities Coliseum, against a backdrop of navy blue, red, silver and white.
