«Wild»
The Wild's natural enemies are geographic before they are competitive: Tri-City, Everett, Seattle and Spokane, the four other Washington sides in the Western Hockey League.
That arrival came late and secondhand. In 2019 the club moved to Manitoba as the Winnipeg Ice, where it took the Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy for the WHL's best regular-season record in both 2022 and 2023 and lost a league final to the Seattle Thunderbirds. On 16 June 2023, David and Lisa White, who already owned the BCHL's Wenatchee Wild, bought the franchise and shifted it south across the border.
The junior Wild has played since the 2023–24 season out of the Town Toyota Center, a 4,300-seat rink. It has not yet won anything under the Wenatchee banner, but the roster has already sent players into the NHL draft — Boston Tait went twelfth overall to the Seattle Kraken in 2024, with Blake Vanek and Brendan Dunphy following the Senators and Panthers in 2025.
Everything the club has won belongs to Kootenay and Winnipeg. Wenatchee inherited the history without inheriting the address.
