The South Okanagan Events Centre seats up to 5,000. The franchise itself goes back to 1961, when it entered the Okanagan-Mainline Junior Hockey League as the Penticton Junior Vees; between then and 2004 the team played as the Broncos, the Knights and the Panthers before the city's junior side reverted to Vees. In 2025 the ownership group took that name into the Western Hockey League, fielding a WHL expansion team for the 2025–26 season while the British Columbia Hockey League side stepped aside.

The nickname predates all of it: Victory, Valiant and Vidette, three peach varieties grown across the Okanagan Valley, gave the club its "V". Under that name, and under Panthers, the junior program reached the top of the country twice, taking the Centennial Cup in 1986 and the Royal Bank Cup in 2012.

Brett Hull, Paul Kariya and Duncan Keith all passed through Penticton on the way to the Hockey Hall of Fame, alongside NHL regulars such as Ryan Johansen and Dante Fabbro. The Highway 97 Rivalry with the West Kelowna Warriors gives the club its sharpest local edge.

Whatever the sweater has said in a given decade, it has said it from the same arena in the same valley town.
