«G-Men»
The Giants sit in the WHL's B.C. Division and carry into most seasons the weight of a franchise that has already done the thing junior teams are built for: winning a Memorial Cup. Nothing since 2007 has matched that peak, though a run to the WHL final in 2019, lost to Prince Albert, showed the pipeline still produces contenders.
Ron Toigo put the franchise together in 2001 as an expansion side, not a transplant, having sold his stake in the Tri-City Americans to back it. The team spent its first fifteen years at the Pacific Coliseum before the 2016 move to Langley. B.C. Hockey inducted that 2007 squad into its Hall of Fame in 2023, long after most of its players had moved on.
The rivalry that matters most is the one across the Strait of Georgia, against Victoria, though the calendar also brings I-5 Rivalry Week against Seattle and Everett, the American end of a corridor rivalry that runs the length of the interstate.
Langley Events Centre holds 5,276, a fraction of the Coliseum's old capacity, but it has been the only home the "G-Men" have known for close to a decade now.
