Kelowna sits close enough on the map that a trip to the Rockets never feels routine, and Spokane and Victoria round out a schedule where the Blazers rarely play a quiet night. The franchise carries that intensity from further back than Kamloops itself: it started in 1966 as the Estevan Bruins, moved to New Westminster in 1971, then to Kamloops a decade later as the Junior Oilers. Only in 1984, once a community-based ownership group took over, did the club become the Kamloops Blazers.

What followed was a run no other Canadian Hockey League team has matched: three Memorial Cup titles in 1992, 1994 and 1995. That stretch produced two players who went on to the Hockey Hall of Fame, Scott Niedermayer and Jarome Iginla, both wearing the Blazers sweater through those championship years before their NHL careers began.

Games at the Sandman Centre still carry the weight of that period.

Three Memorial Cups, none since 1995.
