Prospera Place seats 5,507 for hockey, with room for another few hundred standing.
Two later trips to the same final, in 2009 and 2015, both ended in defeat, the second in overtime against the Oshawa Generals. The President's Cup, awarded for the WHL's best regular-season record, went to Kelowna three times, in 2003, 2004 and 2014.
Across the border of the Okanagan, the Spokane Chiefs stand as the club's sharpest rivalry, a history that runs back to when that franchise still played as the Kelowna Wings before its move to Spokane in 1985.
No graduate of the program is tied to Kelowna more firmly than Leon Draisaitl , who came through the Rockets on his way to the NHL.
