Brandon Wheat Kings had no answer. In the 2010 Memorial Cup final at the WFCU Centre, Windsor won 9–1.

Windsor took the Memorial Cup a third time in 2017, edging Erie Otters 4–3. The name Spitfires had already worn a Hall of Fame jersey once before: an earlier, unrelated Windsor team carried it from 1946 to 1953, with Terry Sawchuk and Glenn Hall, both future Hall of Fame goaltenders, in the lineup before that franchise moved on and the current club was founded in 1971, first as a Tier II side in the Southern Ontario Junior A Hockey League, where it won the league title in 1974.

The Ontario Hockey League championship, the J. Ross Robertson Cup, came in 1988, 2009 and 2010, the same three seasons the Spitfires also finished top of the regular-season table for the Hamilton Spectator Trophy. Dylan Larkin, now captain in Detroit, passed through the roster on his way to the NHL. Across the river sits the closest thing Windsor has to a rival, an OHL side based in Detroit, Michigan.

The Spitfires left the old Windsor Arena for the WFCU Centre in December 2008. Blue, red and white on the sweater.
