Oland United claimed a 2:1 victory over HPS in the Championship Playoffs - 2 on 16th August 2026. The result keeps the home side second in the table with 28 points from 14 games. HPS remain fourth with 24 points after seven wins, three draws and four defeats.
They had met before this season, sharing a 0:0 draw on 28th June. This time the hosts held every card, though there were no goalscorers on record. To be fair, the match was decided by finer margins than the scoreboard suggests.
Oland United arrived in decent form, having beaten Ilves 3:0 and Wifk Women 6:1 in their last two outings. They also took a 4:1 win against PK-35 Vantaa Women before that. HPS had won 3:2 away to KuPS Women most recently, but followed it with a 1:2 loss to Ilves.
The visiting side has seen mixed results of late. They drew 1:1 with Wifk Women and lost 0:4 at HIK before that. Against Oland United on 28th June they had nothing to show for their efforts.
By then the four-point gap between second and fourth place looked set to widen. The hosts now sit comfortably above their opponents with three games remaining in the playoff stage. HPS will need to tighten up if they want to close the distance.
