Kayserispor completed a comfortable 3-0 victory over Erokspor at Esenler Stadium on Sunday, moving into fourth place in the 1. Lig table. The visitors took control early and never looked back, with Daniel Moreno netting twice in the first half before Taulant Seferi added a third after the interval.
And here's the thing — it was Moreno who opened the scoring in the seventeenth minute, finding space to fire past the home goalkeeper. By then, Erokspor had already looked disjointed, their midfield failing to apply pressure when it mattered most. Moreno struck again in the thirty-third minute, this time from closer range, and the visitors were two up before the break.
The match changed character after half-time. Four substitutions for Erokspor at the interval did little to shift the momentum, and in the fifty-seventh minute Mame Mor Faye received a red card, leaving his side to play with ten men for the remainder. To be fair, the home side had been struggling all evening, creating nothing of substance despite holding 52 per cent possession.
Seferi made the extra man count in the sixty-eighth minute, slotting home what proved to be the final blow. The visitors were clinical when it mattered, while Erokspor's goalkeeper was called into action only twice throughout the entire ninety minutes. The result extended Kayserispor's unbeaten run and deepened the crisis for the hosts.
The statistics told their own story. Erokspor registered 91 attacks and 6 shots on target, yet failed to create a single big chance. Kayserispor were more efficient, converting 56 per cent of their shots on target compared to 27 per cent for the home side. Both teams completed roughly similar numbers of passes, but the quality of the final pass was where the difference lay.
Erokspor remain rooted to sixteenth place with just four points from five games, having now gone without a victory since the start of the season. Kayserispor sit fourth with ten points, three ahead of the teams below them and two behind the leaders. Cup football has its own rules, but this was regular season football, and the gap is widening.
