Amiens

Georges Taisne remains the club's all-time leading scorer, and Paul Imiéla played more matches for Amiens than anyone. Between 1903 and 1914 the side dominated its regional league, and it took the titles of the Picardy and Nord regional championships across the 1920s, the 1950s and into 1963.

The name changed twice along the way. Amiens Athlétic Club, founded in 1901, became Amiens Sporting Club in 1961 and took its present form in 1989.

In 2001 Amiens reached the Coupe de France final and lost to RC Strasbourg on penalties after a 1–1 draw. Sixteen years later they finished second in Ligue 2 and went up to Ligue 1 for the first time, sealed by a 95th-minute winner against Reims. Two seasons in the top flight followed.

The academy has produced players who left for larger stages: Tanguy Ndombélé went on to Lyon and Tottenham, Loïc Badiashile to Chelsea and Roma. Aboubakar Kamara was sold to Fulham for around £5m during the Ligue 1 years.

The Derby Picard against AS Beauvais is the fixture the calendar is read for.
