FC Besa Peja

Bekim Kastrati came through the Besa Peja academy before Borussia Mönchengladbach signed him and Albania called him up. Bernard Berisha followed a similar path out through the first team, 44 appearances and 10 goals between 2010 and 2012 before Anzhi, Akhmat and the Kosovo national side.

The club traces itself to Behari i Ri, founded in Peja in 1923. Other sides came and went in the city through the interwar years without ever reaching an official league. The name Besa — Albanian for a given word — first appeared on a Peja shirt in 1974. It took until 1991 for the city's three main clubs, Besa, Budućnost and Kristal, to merge into the FC Besa Peja that entered independent Kosovo football. The 1997/98 Superliga season ended without a champion: Besa topped the table when the war stopped the competition outright.

Home matches are played at the Shahin Haxhiislami Stadium, red and white throughout. That continuity broke in 2023, when financial trouble closed the club down. It came back on 4 December 2023 through a merger, under a new name, new colours and a new crest, starting again in Kosovo's Third League.
