The 2019–20 season never finished, halted by the pandemic, but the Turkish Volleyball Federation looked at where Kuzeyboru stood and waved it into the Sultanlar Ligi anyway for 2020–21.

Foreign talent has moved through the roster over the years, including Bosnia and Herzegovina's Dajana Bošković and Vietnam's Trần Thị Thanh Thúy, while the academy has pushed its own players, among them İrem Erdoğan, into national team reckoning. For 2026–27 the club handed the bench to Lorenzo Pintus, its first foreign head coach.
