Thirteen league titles in eighteen seasons: Árabe Unido won the Panamanian championship for the first time in 1998–99, and by the time the Apertura of 2016 was over no club in the country had won more.
The club came out of Colón's Arab immigrant community, which founded it on 28 April 1994 and gave it the name it still carries. Promotion followed quickly: two LINFUNA titles, in 1994–95 and 1995–96, took the side out of the second tier and into a top division it has not left since.
Amílcar Henríquez played in front of the defence through much of that period and is the name most often attached to the club's best years. He was killed in 2017; the number 21 was retired and has not been worn since.
Beyond Panama the record is thinner. Runners-up in the UNCAF Interclub Cup in 2002, and three quarter-final appearances in the CONCACAF Champions League — 2009–10, 2013–14 and 2016–17 — against opponents with budgets from a different order.
Matches against Tauro FC carry the most weight, a derby with no love lost, though Panamanians argue about which fixture deserves the word clásico.
Home is the Estadio Armando Dely Valdés in Colón, which holds 4,000 — a small ground for the most decorated side in the country, and the reason the biggest nights have always felt tighter than the trophy count suggests.
