Presov Women

Prešov had no women's volleyball team of note until a group in the city put one together in 2013, entering it in the top flight as VK Prešov, sometimes billed as VK Eperia Prešov. It played its home matches in the small hall at the Spojená škola on Ľudmily Podjavorinskej Street, a venue that seats 282.

The one season worth naming is 2016–17, when the team took bronze in the Extraliga Ženy, its first medal in the competition.

By January 2025 the money had run out. Rising energy costs and the absence of sponsors led the club to withdraw from the Extraliga outright and disband the senior women's side with immediate effect. The youth section kept the VK Prešov name and carried on training. When the Extraliga opened its 2025/26 season, the city's place in it was taken not by a revived VK Prešov but by a newly formed club, ŠK ELBA Prešov.
