UCM Trnava Women

That scale did not come from the top division — it came from a university partnership. The section started out in 2001 as Volejbalový oddiel Hit Trnava, and only in 2013, after more than a decade of working alongside the University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius, did it take the name it carries into the Extraliga now.

The senior side has never won the Slovak Extraliga, which it joined for the 2017/18 season, and its best finish there remains fifth, in 2022/23. A European trip in 2023/24 ended at the first hurdle of the CEV Challenge Cup, against ASKÖ Linz-Steg. None of that reads as the club's real business. Its cadet girls took a national bronze medal, its junior girls reached fourth place at the 2025 championship finals, and a pupils' side finished sixth out of 84 teams nationally — figures that only make sense once the nineteen-team structure behind them is on the table.

Home games are played at the Mestská športová hala, in front of crowds that the hall's 1,300 seats, or up to 1,900 standing, rarely test. What defines Trnava in the Extraliga is less a fixture than a pattern: a club built to produce teams, still waiting for the one at the top to catch up with the nineteen underneath it.
